SORRY there are no plans for
grass tournaments this summer.
Summer Grass Volleyball Series — In an effort to provide opportunity for players to keep up their volleyball skills, we will be running a Grass Volleyball Series of games at the University of Rhode Island on the fields next to the ice rink.
Teams can be formed for Girls & Boys who in the Fall of 2006 will be entering grades 7-12. Recent Graduates are welcome too! More experienced players will play doubles while less experienced players will play 4s. Co-ed teams and matches will also be offered.
Players do not have to have a team. Players who are not part of a team will be placed together with other players of the same age & ability level, providing there are available players.
Reducing the number of players on the court significantly increases the amount of touches per player while simultaneously increasing each player’s ball handling skills.
Space will be limited, due to court availability, and will be on a first come first served basis. The earlier players & teams register, the earlier we can purchase additional courts if necessary to accommodate all who are interested. We will accept on site registration providing there is space available. We encourage you to register ahead of time so that we know how to plan.
Fees for players will be kept to a minimal fee to promote participation. Fees will be used to cover insurance, field rental expenses & equipment expenses.
Tournaments will be supervised and code of conduct will be enforced. We want this to be a fun, social, and learning experience for all of our participants!

Note: If cancelled, fees will be applied to another tournament, or refunded depending upon the individual or team's preference. Tournament cancellations due to weather will be made on the website & emailed to those who we have an email addresses for.
TIMES: Games will begin at 6:00 p.m. Teams should arrive at 5:30pm to check-in and warm-up. There will be a short informational meeting, with the discussion of the game & conduct rules. Play will immediately follow. Instruction for those who are new to playing outdoors will also be provided on a separate court. Play will end at 8:00 p.m.
INSURANCE: Players will be covered by the Rhode Island Volleyball, Inc. insurance policy. Each player must fill out and bring to their first tournament the Medical/Insurance/Parent Permission Form. Click on the link for the form in PDF format. If you have trouble downloading the form send us an email and we will email you the Medical/Insurance/Parent Permission Form in a Word Document. We will keep forms on file for the season for those players attending more than 1 tournament. Players under 18, must have a parent/legal guardian sign the form. Players who have turned in a Medical/Insurance/Parent Permission Form for our summer camp, DO NOT need a new form as the one we have is good for the entire year. ** TEAM CAPTAINS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAILING IN TOURNAMENT FEES AND FOR COLLECTING APPROPRIATE PAPERWORK FROM TEAM MEMBERS.
