** FINAL CAMP INFORMATION ** Camp is around the corner! We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation so far. We are excited about camp this summer. This will be the last communication you will receive from us. If someone you know has not received this email or if one of your email addresses did not receive this email it is either because the email was not listed on the application, I couldn't read the email, or you have not allowed emails/attachments from this email address. To correct this, please send me your name & email address to add and be sure you allow emails & attachments from SchneckVBall@aol.com. Thanks!
We still have openings in camp this summer, if you have a friend who is interested in coming let them know. In
this email in pink highlights are links to specific information mentioned in the
email. Also in pink are important
things to remember. Please review
all of the information mentioned so that your questions are answered prior to
coming to camp. We
have an excellent group of staff members lined up who will make you a better
player and your experience here at camp an enjoyable one.
Staff bios are being updated as we receive them from our staff.

STAFF
MEMBERS We
would like to encourage you to do some physical exercises prior to attending
camp this summer. Those campers who
do nothing find out their muscles are pretty sore.
We are not certified to give you a pre-camp training program but would
suggest you do activities that involve the same movements & muscles you use
in volleyball. You
can click on our facilities link to see the buildings we will be using this
summer for Dining, Housing & Gyms: FACILITIES
Camp will dine in the same dining facility as last summer.
It is the brand new state of the art dining facility, Mainfare Dining, in
All
of the answers to most of your questions can be found on our website at Bob
Schneck's Volleyball Camps and Clinic's Section.
Once here click on the tabs on the left of the page for information about
the topic you have questions about.
There is a link to a list for items you should bring to camp.
Please note the beds at the University are Twin Extra Long.
So, your fitted sheets from home will be too short.
We suggest you bring 2 top sheets or better yet a sleeping bag.
The dorm will provide a pillow and blanket, but these are definitely not
like yours from home so you may want to bring your own!
There
are also links for Check-In & Check-Out information,
Commuter & Multiple Camper Info, Parent Info, Travel Time Estimations, &
2009 Activities
for this summer include:
Staff
Match & Ice Cream Night, SWIM NIGHT & Camp Follies Night.
The pool will be open for this summer so come prepared with your bathing suit.
For those of you who are new to camp, the I
emailed out confirmations to those campers I received a Medical Form from.
Please do not email to check your status.
Unless you get another email from me, or a phone call, after this email,
requesting information, you are all set for camp. Room
Assignments will be completed on Friday, July 10, 2009 and will be FINAL.
If you followed the instructions you will be assigned the roommate you
chose. IF you didn’t request a
roommate, one will be assigned to you. We
will assign you with another camper who did not have a roommate request, who is
around the same age as you, and possibly from the same area or high school.
IF you have a friend who registered after you, or you found out later was
coming to camp, and you would like to room with them, both campers must send me
an email stating they want to room together and I will honor your request as
long as I receive the emails by Friday, July 10, 2009.
Once the assignments are completed, it is very difficult to make changes.
This is your last chance to request a roommate.
Once the assignments are completed, there are no changes.
Please
see our directions page for directions to camp.

We will have Fluorescent Pink signs directing you from Route 138 to
check-in. We also have a link for a
short cut to avoid the beach traffic which is on Route 4 & Route 1.
We are located in a tourist area and this road tends to get bogged down
with beach traffic until around noon. Here

Late Arrivals **
-
Campers
who miss check-in should call Lisa at 401-714-4806 so that we are aware of your
late arrival and can arrange to get your packet to you.
If
we have left the check-in area we usually will leave your packet, t-shirt and
water bottle in the TV area of the dormitory.
If you arrive after 1:00pm you should go directly to Keaney Gym.
You can use the itinerary to see where you should go once you arrive. If
you will arrive after the lunch hour, you should make arrangements on your own
to eat lunch as the dining hall will be closed. If
you are arriving at TF Green Airport or The Kingston Train Station and need
transportation to the camp, please send us an email with your travel information
and dates you will need transportation. Roundtrip
fee for airport runs is $25. There
is no charge for the Train Station. We
have a certified athletic trainer on staff.
She will be with the camp at all times and will be housed in the dormitory as
well. Please
be sure to see her during check-in if you need to update your daughter's medical
information or speak to her concerning any serious medical conditions/allergies.
If you need to give medication to her she will collect it to distribute to your
daughter at the scheduled time. She will also have a refrigerator to store
medications that need refrigeration. She will have on hand first aid
supplies as well as over the counter medications for headaches & stomach
upset. The camp will provide athletic tape for injuries that occur at
camp. If
your daughter has an existing injury or situation that needs taping you need to
bring your own athletic tape.
The camp does not have the supply necessary to tape campers who come with
existing injuries. A limited number of rolls can be purchased through the
camp trainer for around $3.00/roll. Campers
with food allergies: Every summer we have a couple
of campers with food allergies or dietary needs. If you have food
allergies or specific dietary needs, send me an email and I will forward it to Dining
Services to get an answer for you. There are a variety of food stations in
the new dining hall to accommodate everyone's needs. The dining service
personnel will be more than happy to help accommodate your food allergy. Once
at camp, if you have questions about a food item and what it contains please be
sure to tell dining hall staff that you have a certain allergy and would
like to speak to the manager about what the food is made with. Please
do not ask the camp staff as we will not know. Our
son, Cameron, will be running the camp store again this summer.
We will have volleyball apparel, kneepads & novelty items available.
The store will be located in the dorm on the first floor and the room number
will be announced during introductions. We will have a limited number of
kneepads available. The store hours will be posted on the door.
Typically the store is open in the evenings after the tournament. **
The camp store will also have snacks & cold drinks available.
If you have candy, snack & drink preferences please email me so we
can have an idea of what you all like and can stock these items.
We appreciate your help! Hopefully
all of your questions are answered. We are looking forward to meeting you
and working with you this summer! Get ready for a lot of VOLLEYBALL
and a lot of FUN! Please go to our website to access additional
